CAMO Gives Fans a Preview of Upcoming Debut LP With First Song and Music Video “Mapsi”
‘Pressure Makes Diamonds’ is out next month.
South Korean rapper CAMO has released a new music video for “Mapsi.” On the new song, the Seoul-based artist, who first made a splash in 2020 with her breakout track “Life Is Wet,” reflects on how far she’s come since then and her plans to continue dropping new music.
A high-production music video opens with CAMO shooting fire out of two massive blowtorches, before delving into a fast-paced flurry of punchy bars. It cuts to a suitcase opening to reveal stacks of money, over which a snake slithers.
The visual was directed by Korlio, with creative direction and A&R from Torsten “Octose” Ingvaldsen. Doomer Fits handled CAMO’s street-ready styling.
Produced by by 808 Mafia’s MP808, hard-hitting track arrives as the first single off of CAMO’s upcoming album, Pressure Makes Diamonds. “Mapsi” is a Korean word meaning “being stylish.” The song is one of 13 tracks that will make up the LP, blending R&B, rap and Korean hip-hop sounds.
