A Look Inside the Immersive Monkey 47 x BAPE® Event in Dubai
Where guests got to live, drink and play the exclusive collaboration.
Last month, BAPE® and Monkey 47 Gin – two icons in luxury craftsmanship – launched their first-ever capsule collection. Dropping a range of fashion and lifestyle pieces, the duo put the exclusive collection into action with an immersive launch event hosted in Dubai.
Welcoming a roster of regional stars to explore the collaboration including DJ Bliss and rapper Freek, the streetwear soirée took place in Al Quoz, the heart of Dubai’s ex-industrial district. Its Alserkal Avenue warehouse was transformed into an exotic cove where walls, podiums and an indoor skate ramp – which became the event’s focal point – were plastered in the collab’s exclusive ‘Wunderbar’ jungle camo print. Meanwhile, tropical leaves and plants engulfed hang-out areas and were brightly illuminated with pink neon signs and strobe lights.
Dressed in shirts from the collection, bartenders served up a special menu of Monkey 47 gin cocktails which guests could easily recreate at home, with the drop’s limited-edition bottle and accompanying ingredients cards. The shelves and clothing racks were stripped bare when the event drew to a close as shoppers departed with iridescent bags filled with Monkey 47 x BAPE® goodies in hand.
