Casablanca Joins Butterfly For $18,000 USD Pastel Ping-Pong Table
Inspired by the Memphis design movement.
Casablanca has just unveiled a design-focused ping-pong setup with the professional table tennis equipment brand Butterfly. Part of Casablanca’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection, this collaboration blends Charaf Tajer’s memories of traveling to Japan with elements of the Memphis design movement and the label’s love for pastel colors.
As one of the few to carry the full table tennis release, Japan’s GR8 has released an introductory video featuring table tennis players Jun Mizutani and Maharu Yoshimura. As seen in the video, the table incorporates a wavy divider, squiggly lines, and colorful legs. The set also has matching paddles with wooden display boxes.
Those interested can apply through GR8’s newsletter where the table is priced at ¥2.42 million JPY (approximately $18,000 USD) while the paddles can be purchased individually at ¥62,700 JPY (approximately $465 USD). The table and paddle will be released on June 18 and 20, respectively.
