Netflix has officially canceled Space Force after two seasons, according to Deadline.

The streaming giant announced that the Steve Carell comedy, which was helmed by Parks and Recreation co-creator Greg Daniels with co-showrunner Norm Hiscock, would not return for a third season only two and a half months following the release of season two.

The series did not appear in the Nielsen streaming weekly Top 10 charts, though it did briefly climb onto the streaming originals Nielsen charts, starting at No. 8 before reaching No. 7 the next week, the outlet reported. Netflix previously moved production from Los Angeles to Vancouver in an effort to reduce its budget, as the series set a record for talent pay with Carell’s deal topping $1 million USD per episode when factoring in fees.

Netflix, which also canceled its original series Raising Dion and Pretty Smart this week, still holds contracts with Daniels for the animated series Bad Crimes and Exploding Kittens. The streamer is currently re-evaluating its spending following news that it lost 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of 2022, marking the company’s first subscriber loss in a decade.

Alongside Carell, the show starred John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Tawny Newsome, Diana Silvers, Jimmy O. Yang and Don Lake. Daniels and Hiscock received executive producing credits with Carell, Howard Klein, Brent Forrester and Ken Kwapis.
