Carhartt WIP and Mahogany Music’s Latest Capsule Is a Celebration of Music Culture
The latest addition to Carhartt WIP’s RELEVANT PARTIES umbrella.
Carhartt WIP has connected with Mahogany Music - the brainchild of the seminal Detroit producer and DJ, Moodymann - to curate an exclusive capsule of garments that celebrate the synergy between music and skate culture.
Dropping under Carhartt’s RELEVANT PARTIES umbrella – a project that explores some of music’s foremost independent record labels with a podcast hosted by UK music journalist, Chal Ravens - the release features two T-shirts, a hoodie, and a limited edition cassette tape curated by DJ Dez Andres. Within the designs, an array of music labels such as Bill Kouligas’ PAN imprint; Busy P’s Ed Banger Records, and Amsterdam-based label, record store, and distributor Rush Hour have been integrated to compile designs that unite everything from skating, music, and fashion.
The launch of these products is being marked by an event in Detroit on May 29 as part of Moodymann’s Soul Skate weekend. The event will see skaters from across America and beyond flock to Detroit over Memorial Day Weekend to enjoy world-class skating and even better music.
