Twitter Is Testing a New Clipping Tool for Spaces Hosts
Hosts will be able to share specific parts of recordings to their timeline.
Twitter is testing a new feature that will allow Spaces hosts to share a clip of a recorded stream to their timeline.
“Certain Hosts on iOS can now clip 30 seconds of audio from recorded Spaces to share, everyone on iOS can see & listen to clips on the Timeline,” the official Spaces Twitter account wrote. “Coming to Android and web real soon.”

Hosts can create an unlimited amount of clips from a Spaces stream, and each will live on Twitter for 30 days, according to a company representative via TechCrunch. The feature will only be available to Spaces hosts at launch, though Twitter does plan to expand the feature to everyone on Twitter in the near future.
The features arrives after Clubhouse, the social audio platform that inspired Twitter Spaces, launched a clipping feature in September, allowing listeners to share the most recent 30 seconds of audio to various social media platforms.
Twitter’s clipping tool is intended to supply users with a new way to garner interest in their Spaces, while also spotlighting a specific section of a recording without having to share the full live stream.
