Brain Dead Applies Its Irreverent Joy to Gramicci's Mountain-Ready Gear
Taking on the Mountain Pants and Mountaineering Jacket.
The great outdoors and urban environments are becoming increasingly intersected, seeing the likes of Supreme and The North Face or Fiorucci and Napapijri come together time after time, and now it’s the turn of Gramicci to tap Brain Dead. For Fall/Winter 2022, the two respective stalwarts have come together on a two-piece capsule fit for mountainous discoveries, serving up Gramicci’s Mountain Pants and Mountaineering Jacket in an unavoidably Brain Dead makeover.
Crafted from 100% cotton grid corduroy, the pieces explore both the collaborators’ worlds. For Gramicci, the garments are reinforced, particularly the pants that feature reinforced hips and knees. Webbing belts make an appearance, as does binding tape on the cuffs, hem and hood. However, nothing is left to Gramicci’s minimalistic devices, as Brain Dead equips its collaboration in a full tie-dye colorway, opting for navy and olive hues.
Bleach prints add a haphazard, mottled effect to both items, tapping into the irreverent joy that’s become Brain Dead’s identity, while a unique washing method has been applied to give them a vintage look and feel. Rounding out the collaborative items, we find Brain Dead’s branding throughout the designs.
Dropping on November 22, the Mountain Pants and Mountaineering Jacket will be available online from both Gramicci and Brain Dead. Take a look at the collection above.
