thisisneverthat's Latest Collaboration Celebrates the Grateful Dead
Featuring iconic motifs from the band.

After delivering athletic basics with Champion and graphic-heavy pieces with Pokémon, thisisneverthat now works with the cult-favorite psychedelic rock band, Grateful Dead, for a special-edition capsule. Established in the San Francisco Bay Area in the ’60s, Grateful Dead are known as “the pioneering Godfathers of the jam band world,” boasting an eclectic style that fuses far-reaching elements from blues and folk to country and reggae.
While many may not immediately recognize a song from the rock band, its dancing bear logo and “Steal Your Face” 13-point lightning bolt symbols have become iconic symbols in contemporary culture. The Grateful Dead motifs, which were originally used as a way for the band to mark their equipment, are now printed, stitched, and embroidered onto a range of retro-style pieces including heavy canvas work jackets, cardigans, loose-knit zip-up hoodies, beanies, and relaxed patchwork bottoms. Tufted rugs and cups arrive as additional accessories.
The Grateful Dead x thisisneverthat collection will be officially released on October 28 through the thisisneverthat webstore and physical locations. A pre-sale pop-up will be held at E()PTY from October 21 for 10 days with the first two days featuring performances from South Korean artists Balming Tiger and Silica Gel.
