Nike By You Taps Japanese Indie Rock Band Hitsujibungaku For Tear-Away Takes on the Blazer '77 Vintage
High and low-top iterations alike feature wear-away uppers that reveal a wavy, tapestry-like material.

Nike‘s Nike By You customization platform has tapped Japanese indie rock band Hitsujibungaku for special tear-away takes on the Blazer. Using the Blazer Mid ‘77 Vintage and the Blazer Low ‘77 Vintage as a canvas, the three members of Hitsujibungaku have applied special Swooshes, hidden detailing and personal touches.
Pictured above are four different stock Blazer By You styles, each of which show the customization options in Hitsujibungaku’s By You pack. The most notable of these options is an ability to adjust the Swoosh: you can either select a standard dual style with independent Swooshes on the lateral and medial sides, opt for a large wraparound style that starts on the lateral side before weaving its way around the heel and coming to rest on the medial collar or have a “cut-out” Swoosh for an extra layering effect.
Though no photos of what lies underneath the upper’s top layer are currently available, the product description of Hitsujibungaku’s Blazers indicates that they feature a “wavy, tapestry-like material” that shows through after normal wear and tear. Thirteen color choices have been provided for the upper, and personalization options are also available on the back of each tongue tag.
Hitsujibungaku’s Nike By You Blazer ‘77 Vintage Mid and Blazer ‘77 Vintage Low are available now via the Nike Japan webstore. The high-cut iteration is priced at ¥14,300 JPY (approximately $130 USD) and the low-cut style at ¥12,600 JPY (approximately $115 USD). Both prices are inclusive of tax.
