Kerwin Frost and adidas Create the Larger-Than-Life Superstar "Superstuffed"
Designed to look five sizes bigger than its actual size, and loaded with a lifetime’s worth of padding.
Kerwin Frost and adidas are kicking their eccentric partnership off in earnest by releasing a larger-than-life Superstar “Superstuffed.” Though Frost has been working with adidas since the beginning of 2020 — and has teased many a kooky collaboration since then — the “Superstuffed” marks his inagural adidas Originals product launch and arrives in big, bold and boisterous fashion.
Inspired by the comically large footwear often spotted on clowns and sporting mascots, the “Superstuffed” has been filled with enough padding to make it appear five sizes bigger than its actual size. This disproportionate look is a Frost signature, as he’s known for wearing super-sized clothing. However, besides its enormous proportions, the “Superstuffed” is all classic Superstar thanks to a white leather upper with a tonal rubber shell toe, black Three Stripe graphic and metallic gold detailing. It also features co-branded insoles and comes packaged in a co-branded box.
“My first shoe with adidas is an absolute masterpiece,” says Frost, clearly not lacking for confidence. “We completely changed the genetics of an iconic shoe – maybe the most important shoe of all time. And this is art. This is special. This has never been done before. We’ve seen the platform sneaker wave but never just a BIG SHOE.”
“I hope these bring joy and a smile to people’s faces,” he continued. “The fact that this shoe exists is a symbol that anything is possible. The idea sounded crazy at first, but here we are. It’s beautiful! Shoutout to the adidas development team for figuring out a way to make these wearable. Clown shoes for the masses!”
The Kerwin Frost x adidas Superstar “Superstuffed” will release as part of adidas CONFIRMED’s “Members Week,” being made available for purchase via the CONFIRMED app on August 26.
