Riot Games has released new gameplay footage for its upcoming League of Legends universe fighting game titled Project L. The video above is narrated by twins Tom and Tony Cannon, the executive producer and technical lead for the new game, who go over their ideation process and direction for the assist-based fighter.

Following the breakout success of its Netflix Series Arcane, the Project L gameplay footage shows the series’ main characters Jinx and Ekko in action. The game is a tag team style fighter meaning players swap between teams of two during the fight. In the video we see Darius swapping in for Jinx mid-combat. We also get a quick glimpse at the controls, and Cannon describes the game as “easy to learn, but hard to master” to allow for fun casual play while maintaining a high skill cap for competitive play. Tony Cannon further assures players that the game will “deliver the same highly responsive gameplay you get when playing offline,” by creating the best netcode possible for low latency and ping.

Note that the game is still early in development, and the gameplay is likely going to be much more refined come release time. An official release date has yet to be announced, but the Riot team promises to share at least two updates in 2022.
