Uniqlo U by Christophe Lemaire Aims to Create Sense of Freedom for SS21
Marking 10 years since the birth of the UNIQLO sub-brand.
In-keeping with its ongoing theme of elevated simplicity, Uniqlo U marks its tenth birthday with a Spring/Summer 2021 capsule collection designed to create a sense of light and freedom after a long winter of confinement.
In much the same vein as Fall/Winter 2020, UNIQLO’s line — dedicated to delivering essential everyday clothing — offers a healthy blend of functionality, practicality and utility. Simple and classic styles remain deeply rooted in the line’s DNA and have again been reworked using classic cotton poplin and twill, while 3D knits have been made with a fresh linen-cotton blend.
Designed out of Paris by artistic director Christophe Lemaire and team, earthy neutrals are mixed with brighter hues to create a sense of nature’s renewal, on garments like crew neck T-shirts, work pants, trucker jackets and denim jeans.
Comprising a total 33 items for men — alongside 35 for women and 6 for a new kid’s range — Uniqlo U’s SS21 collection is set to launch on January 28 and will be available from the brand’s online webstore.
