There’s no doubt many of us have been planning our travels in anticipation of borders opening back up when the world is no longer afflicted with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Now, Swiss luxury watchmaker Patek Philippe is here to help you globetrot in style once the chance arises with its new Calatrava Pilot Travel Time.

Originally debuted at the Patek Philippe Grand Exhibition in Singapore as a limited edition steel-cased offering with a light blue dial and Cordura strap, the model offered now takes on a slightly different approach to the travel watch, opting instead for a white gold construction falling as part of a general release. The precious metal case retains its more conservative and wrist-friendly 37.5mm size, paired strikingly with a navy dial this time, offering a stark and welcome contrast to the Swiss watchmaker’s sportier model.

Much like the Ref. 5524, it carries all the same features, including time, a second time zone via a separate set of hands, a day/night indication, and a date subdial at 6 o’clock. It’s also powered by the same in-house automatic caliber 324 SC FUS, a 29-jewel movement operating at 28,000 semi-oscillations an hour, and holding a power reserve of 35 to 45 hours, depending on your usage. Completing the new reference are two straps for you to swap in and out of: a navy blue calfskin and a vintage brown calfskin.

Now available, Patek Philippe’s Calatrava Pilot Travel Tim Ref. 7234G-001 retails for $48,295 USD. Head over to the watchmaker’s website to learn more.

Elsewhere in watches, Ralph Lauren has released a collection of divers graced with its iconic Polo logo.
