sacai Honors Alexander Girard's Legacy in New Capsule
Featuring a bold print by the late designer.
sacai has unveiled a brand new capsule honoring the legacy of the late Alexander Girard, a multi-disciplinary mid-century designer known for his works in architecture, furniture, industrial design and textiles. This release follows sacai’s collaboration with PORTER seen just three days ago.
The capsule includes a hoodie, a T-shirt, a reversible jacket and a short-sleeve button-up. Each piece is emblazoned with a special typeface developed by Girard that integrates sacai’s logo. “Alexander Girard” and “sacai” branding is neatly placed at the front of the T-shirt. The back features a busy print of a sequence of random numbers and letters, wherein lies emboldened co-branding set in contrasting colors. The same print appears on the inner lining of the reversible black nylon jacket — coming with accented collars and silver-toned hardware. Rounding off the capsule is a short-sleeve button-up that’s detailed with the aforementioned pattern, finished off by a breezy, semi-loose cut.
sacai’s Alexander Girard-inspired capsule will be available on August 26 on the label’s website — prices have yet to be confirmed.
