New Clips Showcase Brad Pitt's Stellar Performance in James Gray's 'Ad Astra'
Titled “Good Luck” and “Lima Project.”
20th Century FOX has released two new clips from the upcoming space exploration sci-fi Ad Astra, giving fans a closer look at Brad Pitt‘s performance alongside Ruth Negga and other co-stars.
The first clip — titled “Lima Project” — depicts Pitt’s character Major Roy McBridge finding himself in the middle of a tense meeting with his superiors on Earth. McBride gets questioned about Lima Project, humanity’s first manned mission to the outer solar system, of which his father Clifford McBride (played by Tommy Lee Jones) was the commander of. While Pitt’s character believes his father’s ship to have disappeared 16 years into the mission, he learns that his father may still be alive, and is understandably shocked from the revelation.
The second much shorter clip, which you can view below, places Pitt on a different planet, portraying a conversation between him and Negga’s character Helen Lantos in a space rover. The duo — both appearing somewhat distraught — engage in a conversation about the apparently dire situation they find themselves in. Not much context has been given in the clip, but Lantos seems to be helping McBride with a mission, perhaps one not sanctioned by their superiors.
James Gray’s Ad Astra, which stars Pitt, Jones and Negga as well as Donald Sutherland, Jamie Kennedy, Liv Tyler, LisaGay Hamilton, John Ortiz, Kimberly Elise, and Natasha Lyonne, will be hitting theaters September 20.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Ash has finally won the Pokémon League Championship after two decades.
