Alexander Wang Offers Up Glossy PVC-Wrapped Stadium Sneakers
Complete with a transparent midsole.
Following Alexander Wang‘s smiley face-emblazoned coach jacket from SS19 back in June, the eponymous design label has returned with its clean, technical Stadium Sneaker in colorways “black” and “white.”
The futuristic sneakers see a mash-up of materials like mesh, suede, leather and thin PVC layers. Most of the upper is glossed over with transparent plastic that protects the inner layer. “Alexander Wang” branding is stamped at the tongue and heel, complemented by a suede lace cage that runs from the heel all the way to the forefoot. The sidewalls are detailed with a strip of leather overlaid atop mesh. One defining highlight of the footwear piece is its sleek midsole, lined with see-through bubbles that show a bit of the cushioning technology of the footbed. Other details like the sneaker’s thin outsole and vented perforations at the toe box top off the design.
The Alexander Wang Stadium Sneaker are currently available in the colorways “black” and “white” at HBX.COM for $515 USD.
