Kida Kudz Drops Eccentric Continental Music Video For "Jiggy Bop"
Lagos to London.
UK-based Nigerian rapper Kida Kudz returns to his roots for his latest single “Jiggy Bop”, directed by Ashleigh Jadee and Sanjo Omosa, the super 8 video contrasts his time spent between London and Lagos.
Kida Kudz’s music combines traditional African musical elements while adding darker electronic grooves with those of the diaspora to create an irresistible genre of its own called ‘Afroswank’. The flute-driven song sees Kudz raps over the infectious instrumental fluently, with an instantly recognisable hook.
Kudz previously mentions, “I walked in the studio and I told my producers, ‘I need to make an anthem’, and we made this banger in an hour, ‘Jiggy Bop’ is a liberating, feel-good song and please: feel free to do any moves your body tells you to.”
Recently signing to Disturbing London, the artist is one to watch, lately seen in the studio with rapper Octavian and rubbing shoulders with visual collective Places+Faces.
