In anticipation of the upcoming Red Bull Music Festival, Red Bull and director Van Alpert released the mini-documentary LA SKATE + MUSIC, showcasing the everlasting bond between skateboarding and music.
Featuring words from Hesh, Chelsea Castro, Race Nagel, The Bots drummer Anaiah Lei, and Illegal Civilization founder Mikey Alfred, LA SKATE + MUSIC digs deeper in understanding what skateboarding has become for the residents of Los Angeles —- an identity that they can authentically classify as their own but without the stereotypes. Skateboarding goes hand-in-hand with music, which has played a huge role in both of the cultures’ progression in terms of mood, video, and lifestyle choices. The five personalities further discuss how the pairing of skate and music played pivotal roles during their upbringings and what it means for them now.
