Elliott Power and Miink Deliver Dark Trip-Hop Track "Kill Fee"
Breaking down our dystopian future.
West-London based musician Elliott Power has delivered his latest hit “Kill Fee,” a project produced by Miink. The self-directed video follows Power as he poetically spills his bars about what we have to sacrifice to survive. Lines such as “Scrutiny mutiny power the eulogy, moving me truthfully giving me new belief” paired with the 808 bassline and distorted synths offer a dark and twisted reality to his words.
The track highlights what it takes to push yourself and asks what you’re willing to sacrifice when you aim to reach the life you want to live. A video as raw as this commands our focus on Power and his words, making for an impactful track that explores trap, poetry and an industrial, experimental hip-hop sound.
After focussing on Power’s words you’ll notice the ad-libs come in the form and depth of a Mortal Kombat sound. The gliding synths follow a deep “sacrifice” repetition, adding layers upon layers of intricate sounds and twists to the track.
Power has set the tone for his independent work throughout 2019, so expect to hear a lot more from the London trip-hop rapper.
