Being hailed as one of Hip Hop’s next big things is usually more curse than a gift. While people keep comparing him to Jay-Z and Nas during their early stages, J. Cole has been working hard to create an identity of its own. Offered track, “Premeditated Murder”, is such an example. Produced by Jermaine himself, the song finds the North Carolina MC reflecting on the bumpy road to prominence. The high level of lyricism in this cut definitely sets him apart from many other contemporary rappers. Furthermore, keeping in mind that “Premeditated Murder” probably won’t make the final cut of his forthcoming debut album leaves one wondering what else this Roc Nation signee has in store. We will keep J. Cole in heavy rotation until we find out.
