Graffiti & Hip-Hop Legend RAMMΣLLZΣΣ Spotlighted in 'Not Who But What' Short Film
Exploring the eclectic universe of the New York City icon.
Following the momentous “Racing for Thunder” exhibition, Red Bull Arts New York just unveiled a new short documentary entitled RAMMΣLLZΣΣ: It’s Not Who But What that offers a rare look at the late graffiti and hip-hop pioneer.
Written and directed by Oscar Boyson and produced by the Safdie Brothers‘ Elara pictures, the nine-minute video offers insights on the cult artist’s personal mythologies, Garbage God identities, anarchic rap freestyles, mixed-media artworks as well as his unmissable cosmic samurai ensembles. Close friends and leading figures of the creative industry such as Delta 2, Michael Holman, Bill Laswell, Carlo McCormick, Eszter Balint, Kool Koor, INK, Dave Tompkins, Torrick Ablack a.k.a TOXIC, and Niels “Shoe” Mailman also relay verbal gems of the multi-faceted talent.
