Hypetrak's Weekly Set - Volume 11

Welcome to the latest edition of our Weekly Set-series. In comparison with the weeks before new music has been scarce during the past seven days. However, some older, unreleased tracks as well as some remixes made the top ten of our featured audio-repertoire. Always a favorite among our readers, Drake’s contribution to Jhené Aiko’s song “July” from 2007 garnered plenty of attention during the past few days. The final version of Big Sean’s single “What U Doin’ (Bullshitting)” has also received a warm welcome on our site. Not forgotten among our readership is the Madd Rapper, who appaered with an older, but never heard before cut with Staten Island’s own Method Man. Some must have been surprised to see Game dropping a song with a title like “Heartbreak Hotel” featuring Diddy who adds his flamboyant flavor to this jamming tune. However, the formula works just fine and serves as a nice teaser for his forthcoming album. Common and Queen Latifah also teased our readers with the uplifting “Next Time (Just Right)” that also serves as the lead single Just Wright that opened last friday.
Further favorites from last week include Stat Quo, who opened the vault and brought forth an unreleased track with Eminem. One week before the eventual release of their Distant Relatives-project Nas and Damien Marley unleashed another track to keep the anticipation strong. Steve Aoki reemerged on the musical scene with a brand new remix, so did Lloyd Banks who offers a star-studded remix for his hit “Beamer, Benz Or Bentley” whereas Janelle Monáe delivered further incentive to purchase her debut album The ArchAndroid that drops this week. Check out the audible recap below.
