Bolywool - The Dial

Swedish rock outfit release arguably one of this year’s most impressive song’s of their genre. Entitled, “The Dial”, the song is the result of the band experimenting on something “epic”. Read and listen for yourself.

We basically started out with just a few tones and a drum loop. We wanted to make something epic, like a soundtrack to a documentary on National Geographic and yet with a lo-fi aesthetic feel to it. It was recorded at various locations (i.e. our cramped flats) in Stockholm during the drizzliest time of year and this certainly gave a feel to the song. The title and the lyrics were inspired by the transcendentalist journal The Dial. “dial your own eternity”… might have been Emerson. Anyway, it’s just a really beautiful stanza oozing with the the sense of something epic…
