SoundCloud & Sony/ATV Announce Licensing Deal
A “multi-territory agreement for Europe.”

SoundCloud recently announced it’s paid tier, SoundCloud Go, and now, the music sharing platform has linked with Sony/ATV, the world’s biggest music publishing company. They’ve announce a “multi-territory agreement for Europe” with the publisher. The deal will help Sony/ATV artists and songwriters generate money through SoundCloud’s song identification technology. Alex Ljung, SoundCloud co-founder and CEO, shares,
“Our agreements with major partners are a significant part of achieving our ambition of allowing all forms of creative expression to live on our platform, while simultaneously ensuring rightsholders’ work is rewarded and respected.”
