Elton John has been reported to be suffering from a “rare and potentially deadly” infection. At the moment, John has cancelled a slew of forthcoming South American tour dates because of his condition. He has been released from the hospital and is currently recovering at his residence. John’s camp issued an official statement regarding this:

“During his return flight home from Santiago, Chile, he became violently ill. Upon returning to the UK, Elton’s doctors admitted him to the hospital, where he underwent immediate treatment to remove the infection. Infections of this nature are rare and potentially deadly.”

Following his hospital discharge on Saturday, Elton is expected to make a full recovery.
