XXL – 10 Freshman For ’10 (Mixtape)

For their feature on Rap’s most promising artists in the 2010 acclaimed Hip Hop magazine XXL enlists DJ Whoo Kid to mix up the exclusive cuts delivered by the ten attestants. We applaud the magazine to offer up and coming artists a platform to properly introduce themselves to the masses. Here’s the detailed scoop on the project.

March madness continues. Last Monday (March 1) XXLMag.com unveiled the cover for our April 2010 issue, featuring XXL’s new Freshman Class. Today (March 8), we drop another exclusive, as the 10 Freshman for ’10 Mixtape, hosted by DJ Whoo Kid, is released.
The compilation features 17 brand new tracks (see complete track list below) by this year’s Freshmen 10—Pill, Jay Rock, Nipsey Hussle, Big Sean, Fashawn, Freddie Gibbs, Wiz Khalifa, J. Cole, OJ Da Juiceman and Donnis. Whoo Kid already treated listeners to a few choice cuts off the tape this past Saturday (March 6) during his Sirius/Shade45 show, as the artists themselves called in for live interviews. XXL’s 10 Freshman for ’10 issue hit stands next Tuesday, March 16.
