For those interested, here’s the Tupac interview that Kendrick Lamar‘s To Pimp a Butterfly song “Mortal Man” borrows dialogue from. On Kendrick Lamar’s album finale, Kendrick hosts a “Q&A” of sorts with the famous rapper, choosing to utilize the last half of “Mortal Man” to broadcast the imaginary, yet poignant exchange. However, the portion used on To Pimp a Butterfly was just a small part of an expansive interview conducted in 1994 by Swedish radio host Mats Nileskär. In the six clips below, you can listen as Tupac gives an interview to Swedish radio station P3, just a couple weeks before the notorious Quad Studios shooting.
