Spotify Will Show Songwriter and Producer Credits on Desktop App

Spotify announced today (February 2) that they will display songwriter and producer credits on the desktop platform. Users can see the credits by right-clicking on tracks and selecting the Show Credits option. “It’s amazing to see Spotify give the unsung heroes of music some recognition on their platform,” producer Frank Dukes said about the new feature. “Definitely a step in the right direction.” The new feature is effective immediately.
The displayed information will be directly sourced from the data that the label gives them, something Spotify know isn’t as reliable as you think. “We realize some of the label-provided credits are incomplete or may contain inaccuracies, but this is just the first step in displaying songwriter credits on Spotify,” Spotify said.
