DeJ Loaf and Atlanta producer/singer Jacquees have just debuted as a new musical duo with their new mixtape, Fuck A Friend Zone. The basis behind the entire project was to make “real feel good music” according to Jacquees, who spoke to FADER about the project. You’ll sense a new vibe immediately after hearing DeJ’s first track on the project that explores new R&B tones driven mainly by heavy synths and guitars — something that has been pretty much non-existent from her up until this point. “It was real dope working with DeJ on this project. I ain’t never went in the studio with nobody and created a vibe like this. I couldn’t wait for the fans to hear and feel like it’s another level for me in my career and a sound people not expecting from her. I hope everybody enjoys it as much as we do,” says Jacquees.
