Radiohead Share Their Unreleased Title Track for James Bond's 'Spectre'
A Merry Christmas gift from lead Thom Yorke.

What if ’90s alternative band Radiohead recorded the title track for the latest James Bond film Spectre? Actually, that’s exactly what they did, but it was scrapped for Sam Smith’s “Writing’s on the Wall” during final production stages and was never used. Today, Radiohead is releasing the track for all to witness, as a Christmas gift of sorts from the band. The hauntingly dark and emotional song would’ve set a whole different tone to the blockbuster film, and apparently there’s more to the story than meets the eye with a betting scandal concerning a large sum of money being placed on if Radiohead would actually be featured. Nevertheless, frontman Thom Yorke tweeted the following message about the track to his fans:
“Last year we were asked to write a theme tune for the Bond movie Spectre.
“Yes we were. It didn’t work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much.
“As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it. Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.”
