Roc Raida Video Tribute featuring X-Ecutioners and The Beat Junkies

A true legend in the realm of Hip-Hop and turntablism, Roc Raida was honored back in September through performance, exactly one year after his passing. Amongst the performers were his original crew, X-ecutioners and the world famous Beat Junkies. You can read the press release on the event below:

The Beat Junkies, with the support of VTech, threw a tribute to our dear friend, the late great Grandmaster Roc Raida of the X-Ecutioners this past September. The actual event was exactly a year after the date he was buried: Sept 24th, 2009. We were able to have some members of the X-Ecutioners participate in the event, as well as having Roc Raida’s family in the house. His daughter DJ NyRaida performed a set in tribute to her father.

If you were in LA for this event, you were able to witness something very magical. And for those who didn’t get to experience it, and those who want to relive it, we present this video. Mochilla sat with the Junkies and X-Ecutioners and tried to remember Raida not in a sad way but in a celebratory way.

As MF Grimm says “Anyone who knows Raida knows that the energy that he possessed he was able to transfer to you – and once he did nobody could tell you anything…”
