Rick Rubin to Receive Recording Academy Honor
The Recording Academy is formally recognizing one of the music industry’s greatest.

Much has been said about Rick Rubin‘s storied career. From Slayer and Kanye to Adele and Johnny Cash, he’s worked wonders for many. Now, the Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing will be honoring the legendary, multi-talented producer during their annual event celebrating behind-the-scenes heroes such as Quincy Jones and Jimmy Iovine. Those attending the festivities will hear an in-depth retrospective about Rubin’s decades-long career. Speaking on Rick Rubin, The Recording Academy’s President and CEO Neil Portnow had the following to say in a statement:
“Rick Rubin has said he has one rule regarding his recording process, ‘The only rule is that it’s not done until it’s great.’ His contributions to music and to the artists he’s worked with prove that Rick is beyond simply great. He is remarkable. We look forward to celebrating this musical icon and his pioneering career, which continues to inspire and climb to new heights.”
