Macklemore holds nothing back for his latest interview. Sitting down with collaborator Ryan Lewis and Sway for Sway in the Morning, Macklemore pulls back the curtain on his thoughts concerning the recent controversies he stirred up with the release of his new single, “White Privilege II.” “We’re white artists that in the last couple of years have been rightfully critiqued for appropriating black culture and benefiting from it. I’m putting myself in the exact same box as them,” Macklemore tells Sway when speaking about the alleged Iggy Azalea shots within “White Privilege II.” Sway also calls Macklemore’s latest, “one of the most powerful, impactful, honest, uncomfortable, emotional” tracks he’s heard in recent years.
