David Bowie Plays a Mentally-Disturbed Patient in Johan Renck's "Lazarus" Music Video
The ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘The Walking Dead’ director helms the vid for Bowie’s new single.
Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane aside, David Bowie’s discography includes countless classics and the iconic Brit’s latest LP, ★ (Blackstar), looks like another for the ages. Now, just a day ahead of his 69th birthday, the influential polymath has released his latest piece: the official music video for the cut “Lazarus.” Directed by none other than Johan Renck of Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead fame (who also helmed the video for ★‘s title track), the piece stars Bowie himself as a disturbed mental patient — complete with a bandaged face and buttons for eyes.
Check out the creepy production above and expect Bowie’s 26th studio album to drop this Friday, January 8.
