These Videos Recreate Recipes in the Style of Your Favourite Movie Directors
From Tarantino to Wes Anderson.
Self-describing as a “foodie-for-hire” — working as a food stylist, recipe designer and director for a whole host of brands — it’s fair to say that David Ma knows how to make food look good. It turns out that what David Ma also knows is the movies — and how to bring those two passions together. In a selection of new videos, each tagged with #FoodFilms on his YouTube channel, Ma recreates instructional recipes in the style of cult directors: there’s centralized, pastel-hued s’more from Wes Anderson, celestial pancakes from Alfonso Cuaron, quick-shot spaghetti and meatballs from Quentin Tarantino and waffles in the ever-explosive style of Michael Bay.
You can find out the answer to the question “What if Wes Anderson made S’mores?” for yourself in the video above and check out David Ma’s YouTube channel for the full series. And, on the subject of food, here’s how Krispy Kreme is celebrating the solar eclipse.
