London-based adventure brand Vollebak claims to have produced a hoodie that can survive extreme wear for 100 years. The brand, which describes itself as “the world’s most experimental adventure brand,” has been working on the hoodie for two years. Over those two years, the team behind Vollebak have dragged it at high speed along tarmac, over rocks and through rivers; they’ve tied it behind a motorbike, a 4×4, and a speed boat; they’ve hit it with sparks from an axel grinder; and they’ve dried it with a blowtorch; it survived every test.

To make a hoodie that is “designed to outlive you,” the brand has used 100% Kevlar fiber, an industrial material that can survive at temperatures ranging from 300°C (572°F) to -200°c (-328°F) and is also used in spacesuits, body armor and aircraft carriers. Despite the choice of material, the 100 Year Hoodie has maintained a soft feel and comes complete with a cushioned fleece-like inside. If you want to get your hands on a hoodie that will last you a lifetime — apparently 2,000 washes, 4,000 wears and 100 accidents — then Vollebak’s 100 Year Hoodie is available from the brand’s web store in either charcoal or pale yellow, and it’ll cost you £230 GBP ($294 USD).
