Les Benjamins Reimagines Tribal Tapestries and Ikat Print for 2017-2018 Spring/Summer Collection
“Itʼs a real cultural movement that empowers togetherness and awareness about the world we live in.”

Known for blending eastern and western aesthetics, Les Benjamins taps into Australian heritage for its spring/summer season. The collection pays homage to the ancient Australian culture with vibrant tribal tapestries and thread ikat embroidered shirts and shorts while oversized gold trimmed hoodies are paired with sweatpants and a ladies pinstripe jumper includes a tear-away pants feature. One stand out piece is the black pajama shirt, which features symbols that resemble cave paintings such as a kangaroo and “1788” — a representation of the year Europe colonized Australia. Founder and creative director Bunyamin Aydin reimagines streetwear in this ancient civilization while expressing socio and political statements. “Itʼs a real cultural movement that empowers togetherness and awareness about the world we live in.”
