Following collaborations with Mondo-kun and Hello Kitty, Japanese brand .efiLevol continues to celebrate its 10-year anniversary with another collaborative collection. Its latest drop pays homage to famed photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. During the ’70s and ’80s, Mapplethorpe pushed the boundaries with a series of provocative monochromatic images — deemed controversial at the time due to their erotic nature. With permission from Mapplethorpe’s foundation, .efiLevol has produced a collection comprised of a T-shirt, coach jacket, long sleeve shirt and a tote bag, each featuring a boldly printed Mapplethorpe photograph. The collection will be available at a price range between ¥14,000 JPY to ¥25,000 JPY (approximately $128 USD to $228 USD) at .efiLevol and select retailers beginning June 9.
