#5: Brodinski Found a Home in Atlanta, Thinks Gucci Mane Is a Movie-Star
The Bromance pioneer speaks on how sites like DatPiff helped him access the Atlanta trap scene all the way from France.
“When the Internet blew up, local culture exploded and all of a sudden anyone could access it from anywhere in the world.” No one understands this concept of cultural transference than Brodinski, a Parisian-born and -bred DJ who fell in love with Atlanta’s explosive trap scene, largely thanks to websites like LiveMixtapes and DatPiff.
Sitting down with HYPEBEAST Radio, Brodinski talks about how he has since made Atlanta a home away from home, working with local talent like Peewee Longway, Hoodrich Pablo Juan, and others. The mixtape that made him fall in love with Atlanta? “Definitely Gucci Mane — he’s a rockstar. I love his work, his craft, him helping other rappers. He’s saying some wild stuff, too! It’s like watching a movie when you’re listening to him.”
