Watch This Brief History for 'Guardians of the Galaxy'
A look back at the relatively obscure graphic novel.
One of this summer’s biggest blockbusters, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, is about to hit theaters next week. Created by industry heavyweights Marvel, the comic book giants turned a relatively obscure graphic novel about a ragtag team of intergalactic do-gooders—whose ranks include a raccoon-like creature and an alien resembling a sentient tree—into a $200 million USD movie. But the team’s history dates back all the way to the 1960s. Now thanks to a recent video by The Know, viewers can look back at the origin and history of the Marvel superhero team which are on their way to becoming the next Avengers-style franchise for the studio. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper, hits theaters on May 5.
