A$AP Rocky's "GUESS Club" Pop-Up Is a Time Warp to the '90s
Vintage arcade games, boomboxes and more to celebrate the new collection.
Kicking off his second collaboration with GUESS originals, A$AP Rocky took us to a nostalgic-filled clubhouse to celebrate the launch, while donning a bright orange knit Gucci hat. The star-studded event, with appearances by Kendall Jenner, Anwar Hadid, Justine Skye, Christina Milian and Shaun D. Ross, took place in a lifelike treehouse influenced by Flacko’s childhood fantasy. The pop-up further evoked decades past with retro board games, arcade games like Pac-Man, boomboxes and comic books, complete with old school posters along the walls. The “GUESS Club” collection features a unisex silhouette, inspired by the colorful fashion from the ’90s and the Hughes brothers’ film Menace II Society. In the lineup, a medley of denim jackets, pastel-hued jeans and tops, as well as ringer tees with Guess’s classic logo tastefully combine the past with the present.
“It’s really like a clubhouse, you got to be a member without excluding people,” Rocky quoted. When asked about his fellow member Yams, he stated, “I thought to collaborate with Guess before I approached them, so Yams knew about them in 2014, 2013. He just passed before we actually made it happen. He knew I would collab with Guess. I think we just put it out there into the universe and this is how it all happened.”
