Public School's Collection 1 2017 Channels the Idea of an Urban Uniform
Featuring exaggerated silhouettes and slashed tailoring.
Public School’s Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne made waves last year when they announced that they would start only showing two collections a year, as well as combining the label’s menswear and womenswear shows. The idea started with Collection 1 serving as the brand’s resort and spring ranges, while Collection 2 as both pre-fall and fall lineups. The idea of an urban uniform was the theme of the label’s inaugural Collection 1 with looks inspired by wearable essentials that feature exaggerated silhouettes and slashed tailoring. Highlighted by the caution-tape yellow, the graphic patching found throughout the collection gives a scavenged effect that works with the theme of the collection while serving like a flag of sorts.
