Alexander Wang and adidas Originals Join Forces for a Second Capsule This Spring
“This new drop’s got more iconic adidas colors.”
Last September, Alexander Wang officially announced his partnership with adidas Originals. Collaborative pieces were first debuted on his eponymous label’s 2017 spring/summer runway show for New York Fashion Week. As a whole, the limited capsule contained a total of 84 unisex pieces and is still pending an official rollout this spring. Now the renowned designer has announced he is ushering in a second drop with the Three Stripes and it sounds like a total game-changer.
“This new [second] drop’s got more iconic adidas colors. Like the firebird blue, the Stan Smith green and the soccer-jersey orange,” said Wang to the Wall Street Journal. Although the forthcoming range will be a homage to traditional design cues under the athletic brand, fans can surely expect to see some unconventional garbs that tout Wang’s signature aesthetic. “We turned the famous adidas trefoil upside down. It’s symbolic. Starting over and tearing things up are always the most inspiring moments for me,” the designer added.
There is no word yet on a release date, but wares will probably be priced between $80 USD and $200 USD, an estimate culled from the first drop.
