Grace Wales Bonner has been one to watch in fashion, having won 2016’s LVMH prize. She’s been stocked at Opening Ceremony since her Fall/Winter 2015 collection, and the retailer is now celebrating Wales Bonner’s success with an exhibition and meet-and-greet. The all-around creative recently made a zine Everything Is Real in partnership with Ditto Press. Her work delves into the questions of race, gender and identity, with her most poignant pieces discussing black masculinity, breaking down the stereotypes that black males must have an overt machismo by portraying them as delicate and vulnerable. Opening Ceremony will be selling Wales Bonner’s zine and her latest collection. She will also be in store for a meet-and-greet on September 6, from 6-8 PM. Learn more here.
