Demna Gvasalia’s debut fall/winter show with Balenciaga saw a wide variety of stunning designs, ranging from bold silhouettes to reworked styles. One particular item that caught the eye of critics was the oversized shopping bag which models wore down the runway. Inspired by the usually cheap red-white-blue nylon bags often used for packing groceries or carrying heavy goods, the appearance of the familiar style in a high-fashion setting was surprising, but effective. Now, you can buy your own Cabas shopper at colette with a starting price of approximately $2,000 USD for a lamb grain leather rendition, and $10,000 USD for a snakeskin version.
