Microsoft Announces the Official Release Date for the Xbox One S
The white, slimmed-down console is just a couple of weeks away.

Back in June, Microsoft took to E3 to unveil its immediate successor to the Xbox One: a white, slimmed-down console aptly named the Xbox One S. Now, after promising availability in early August, the tech giant is keeping its word, confirming an official release date for the console.
Bridging the gap between the current Xbox and Holiday 2017’s high-powered Project Scorpio, the Xbox One S isn’t merely a smaller Xbox One with a fresh coat of paint. Not only does the upcoming machine now feature 4K Ultra HD video and HDR support, but it now employs a built-in power supply — see ya later, massive power brick — along with more easily accessible USB ports on the front, an IR blaster, a vertical stand, and a slightly modified controller.
The Xbox One S drops August 2 with a special 2TB launch edition for $399 USD.
