Meet the Video Game Player of the Century
The first person to score the highest-possible score on ‘Pac-Man.’
One of the best known American video-game players today is Billy Mitchell. Back in July 1999, Mitchell was the first ever person to obtain a perfect score in Pac-Man‘s original arcade game, achieving a score of 3,333,360. This accomplishment even stunned Pac-Man‘s creators and designers, who subsequently named him “The Video Game Player of the Century.” Mitchell’s golden era doesn’t stop there. Back in 1982 he set the highest score at Donkey Kong as well, which was documented in The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters. Get to know Mitchell’s story in the video above.
