Ian Strange Partners With Standard Practice to Open "Suburban" in NYC
Strange’s multi-faceted film and photography solo exhibition opens this weekend.
From 2011 through 2013, architecturally-inclined Aussie artist Ian Strange created “Suburban,” a multifaceted photography, film and installation exhibition that featured seven site-specific interventions across Ohio, Detroit, Alabama, New Jersey, New York and New Hampshire. Now, after 2014’s “Landed” and last year’s wallpaper-wrapped Polish landmark, Strange is resurrecting “Suburban” for a brand new exhibition in New York City. Opening this Friday in partnership with NYC-based Standard Practice, the display promises to be the best look yet at the unique film and photographic works as Strange transforms prototypical suburban homes into true works of art.
Strange’s “Suburban” will be open through May 30 and, if you can’t make it to the opening, you can check out some of the works over at his website.
