adidas Gives Its Flagship Boots a Mercury Makeover
Look for the likes of Leo Messi, Paul Pogba and Gareth Bale to lace these up in the weeks ahead.
Inspired by the drive to write one’s name in the history books, adidas is taking cues from the trophies that come with that historical immortality to introduce a brand new pack of boots. Featuring the latest versions of its flagship X and ACE silhouettes alongside Lionel Messi’s own signature boot, the Three Stripes’ “Mercury” pack sees each boot with a shiny silver upper while retaining the likes of the X’s state-of-the-art PURECUT SOCK SYSTEM, the ACE’s sleek lace-free lines and the MESSI 16+ PUREAGILITY’s specially crafted heel lining.
Look for the “Mercury” editions of the X and ACE to make their debut on the pitch when crosstown rivals Real Madrid and Atlético square off in the UEFA Champions League final come Saturday, May 28. The matching MESSI 16+ PUREAGILITY will premiere on the feet of its Argentinian namesake when he looks to lead La Albiceleste to Copa America glory later this summer.
