An obsession with the unknown may have gotten the best of NASA and it’s on full display in the new trailer for the film Approaching the Unknown. The movie stars Mark Strong on a mission to make Mars his home, following his astounding 160,000 mph journey as his routine becomes clockwork — until the mission goes terribly wrong, that is. On board a ship that’s off course with no communication to help fix the issue, Strong’s character finds himself faced with the dilemma of whether he should attempt to return to Earth or continue the quest as we’re given an inside look at his fight for survival and scientific discovery.

Approaching the Unknown is expected to release in theaters on June 3.
